Discover the ideal training path for your dog with our suite of Group Classes at Ocean Edge Dog Training.

From the foundational skills taught in our Foundation Class to the real-world experiences in our exclusive Out and About Class, we offer a progressive curriculum designed for up to 10 dogs per session—except for Out and About, which is an intimate experience for up to 4 dogs.

Each level builds upon the last, enhancing your dog’s obedience and agility, with personalised attention guaranteed by our limited class sizes.

Our classes are structured to follow a natural progression that allows for building upon the skills learned at each stage. Begin with our Foundation class, progress to Beginner, advance through Intermediate, and culminate with our Advanced level.

Important Information

Please reach out to us if you have any further questions.

  • What is the age requirement for dogs to participate in Group Classes?

    • Our Group Classes are open to all dogs aged 16 weeks and older, allowing your canine companion to start learning and socialising at the appropriate stage.
  • Are there any prerequisites for my dog before attending Group Classes?

    • Yes, for the safety and well-being of all participants, we require that all dogs be fully vaccinated before joining the classes. Please provide proof of your dog's vaccination records upon enrolment.
    • We recommend that students have successfully completed our Puppy School as a prerequisite for both Foundation and Beginner Classes.
  • What should I bring to the Group Classes for my dog?

    • Your dog's favorite chew toy: Keeping your dog engaged and providing comfort during the training sessions.
    • A sturdy flat collar and leash: Essential for your dog's safety and to maintain control (Harnesses are also suitable; however, choker chains, slip leads, or extendable leashes are not permitted).
    • A portable mat or bed for your dog: This helps to define a personal space for your dog to relax and focus during activities.
    • A selection of high-value treats: Reward your dog with their favourites like chopped Prime 100 roll, pieces of roast chicken, or air-dried meat treats to encourage and reinforce positive behavior throughout the training.
  • What to Expect from our Program

    • Clients can look forward to a structured 5-week program consisting of 45-minute sessions that focus on practical obedience and agility.
    • Our curriculum is designed to build progressively with each level: Foundation, Beginner, Intermediate, to Advanced.
    • We also offer 'Out and About' classes—a 5-week series of 45-minute practical sessions held at various locations around the Bellarine to enhance real-world training.
  • Is there anything special about the class environment?

    • Certainly! Both owners and dogs will benefit from a dynamic learning environment, as our classes take place both indoors and outdoors. This variety ensures that your dog is adaptable and well-behaved in different settings.
